After living in Xiamen for many years, my wife and I have decided to leave China and travel. We started small cocktail lounge over 4 years ago and it's ideal for someone looking to start their own business with very low risk. There's seating inside for about 12 people (more if you make it a standing bar) and seating on the outside for at least 16. We're super lazy when it comes to marketing and yet with a semi decent amount of work (a couple special events a month and some sort of weekly mini event), we're able to pull in an average of 25,000RMB gross a month. Rent is super cheap at 3,000RMB/month and we had a full time staff member working for 3,000/month and a couple part timers at 15/hour. Buy out is 150,000 and comes with everything you need to run the place (including a pull out kitchen section for cooking burgers or whatever you'd like, lessons on how to make drinks if you don't know how, and the distributors that we've developed good relationships with over the years). Legal wise, we registered everything in my wife's name (she's Chinese). You'll either need to have one Chinese person involved or you can register a foreign owned company if need be. Hit me up with any questions and I'll get back to you within the day.
